Vintage Design
This sofa is made and signed by H. Pander & Zonen, “Hollandia”. The sofa has been completely renovated and upholstered. A beautiful sofa and signed by Pander at the top of the backrest. And the mark branded on the underside of the sofa. The sofa exists of a wooden frame with fabric upholstery with brass settings, raised on 2 lion claw legs. The measurement is 84 cm at the back and 88 cm armrest. The width is 210 cm and is 64 cm deep. The seat height is 45 cm. The weight is 60-70 kilos. (1 Inch = 2.54 cm)
Dutch Klaas Pander (1819 – 1897) first sold mats in Gouda and later in The Hague. In 1878 he moved to Wagenstraat 21, The Hague, where he started a shop. Partly under the influence of his son Hendrik, the collection was expanded with curtains, linoleum, blankets and furniture. In 1887 Hendrik Pander (1842-1893), the son of Klaas, opened the Pander Meubelfabriek (Pander Furniture factory) in The Hague. The Hollandia flour factory used to be located here. The name of the company was changed to H. Pander & Zonen.
