This runner is knotted in the province of Azarbayjan in north-west of Iran. This city is perhaps as ancient rug weaving tradition as is the entire rug history. The design in this piece is geometric with repeated medallion and tribal motifs inspired from nature. The pile of this rug is thick; hand weaved with strong cotton as the material of choice for the foundation. The base color is blue and border color is cream and multi. The design and color combination can be fitted in any traditional or transitional style. The size is 2 feet 8 inches wide by 9 feet tall. It is important to note that in different light settings of the house, the rug may seem slightly lighter or darker.
