A good pair of English neoclassical style sterling silver candelabra, useable with one, two or the three lights, hallmarked for London, circa 1888-1891. The bases are in the form of Corinthian fluted and stop fluted columns with associated sterling silver inserts that hold either two or three candles depending on whether or not the flame finial is inserted.
The images show the candelabra in two formats; the two light with the central candlehole occupied by a removable finial, the 3 light with the finial removed. One bobeche replaced with plated example. The candlestick bases are weighed; the remaining elements are not. One candle base hallmarked for London 1888-1889, the other 1890-1891. Same untraced London maker. Inserts are hallmarked for 1890-1891.
