“Marquetry dresser after model of riesener” chest of drawers in marquetry from a model of Jean-Henri Riesener (1734-1806) received master in 1768 and cabinetmaker of the Mobilier de la Couronne. This model was delivered to Versailles, Riesener was the favorite cabinetmaker of Marie Antoinette. This pupil of OEBEN adopts the rectilinear forms of the Louis XVI style while retaining certain curves recalling the Louis XV style. The marquetry is geometric and the decor is made up of flowers and fruit in a basket, a vase and a large ewer. Great richness of golden bronzes. The tray is in marble, three small drawers under it and two large drawers in the lower part. This was made in the second half of the 1900s. Very high quality of cabinetmaking. Dimensions: 1.43 m x 0.57 m and 0.91 m high.
