This stunning Art Deco Hollywood cut crystal wall sconce was realized in the United States, circa 1940. It features two sinuously curved arms that extend from silvered fittings culminating in scalloped bobeches with a wealth of cut crystal pendants hanging from them. The backplate and the necks of the sconce arms are similarly silvered, offering a stunning formal counterpoint to the translucent crystal that features prominently throughout the piece. Additionally, there is striated stylized sunburst detailing on the subtly scalloped circular backplate and etched detailing throughout. With its monochromatic palate and clean modernist lines, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from Art Deco (and Hollywood Regency) to contemporary. The sconce comes fitted with custom shades. It accommodates two candelabra based bulbs offering up to 120 watts of light, and has been newly rewired to American standards.
