This elegant antique “Chaise de Fumeur” or smoking chair was crafted in France, circa 1880. Built of oak wood, the chair stands on barley twist legs, and features exquisite pierced foliage carvings all throughout. The top armrest and the seat are dressed with cushioned tan leather upholstery and embellished with decorative brass nail heads. The Napoleon III chair is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich dark walnut patina; a wonderful addition to a man’s office or study! Chairs like this were carved for aristocrats to enjoy their pipes and cigars in a unique and elegant way.
