A fabulous late 19th Century giltwood overmantle compartmental mirror in the manner of Adams. The finely hand carved, moulded and fluted giltwood frame with applied flowerhead paterae, egg and dart detail throughout is surmounted curved architectural pediment above a beautifully decorated and panelled deep frieze depicting finely carved Neoclassical motifs, comprising a centred urn and anthemion flanked with a stunning arrangement of scrolling foliate, acanthus leaves and flowerheads. Raised over three bevelled mirror glass plates of rectangular form, all framed within an ebonised and reeded border, flanked with a pair of elegantly simple, ring turned columns to each side, supported on shaped platform base.
