A very fine and rare late 19th Century giltwood overmantle or pier mirror in the manner of Adams, of impressive proportions and in lovely original condition. The bevelled mirror glass plate of oval form is set within stunningly hand carved, moulded and reeded giltwood frame with gorgeous beaded row detail. Surmounted with an intricately pierced centred crest composition of a fabulous arrangement of elegant Neoclassical motifs, comprising of a central urn flanked with scrolling foliate, flowerheads and garlands of bell husks, finely carved in high relief, the pierced apron with a further beautiful arrangement of centred flowerheads flanked scrolling foliate and garlands of bell husks.
