Original early production 1930s Model 60 stools, designed by Alvar Aalto in 1934, made in Finland. Distributed in the UK by Finmar Ltd. Now very hard to find.
Finmar Ltd ivorine labels to the undersides. Solid bent birch legs, sawn to create the bend. Birch seat with veneer edge trim and finger joins only found on the early versions.
Provenance: From the estate of a famous London based milliner. Purchased from Heals London pre-World War 2. Details of provenance will be provided.
Original condition. Great depth of colour to the wood only achievable after almost 100 years of use. Signs of age and use as pictured. Area of loss to the underside of the seat, only visible when turned upside down – See last 3 pics.
