Striking pair of late 18th century painted and gilt console tables. The frames carved and gilt with guilloche apron bands. Raised on tapering turned and fluted cylindrical legs with guilloche bands at the tops and leaves above the flutes. The peg feet with beaded bands. The burled tops decorated with multiple floral swags anchored by large bows. Outer framing bands with tan and brown running ribbons on black with leaves, buds and painted beaded edges.
Measures: 60″ L, 24″ D, 34 1/2″ H
Condition: Some alligatoring, minor discolorations, water stain on one top, some scrapes to feet. There is a stable age crack to the top of one leg. There are some professional repairs to a leg connection which also bears re-touched gilt (Please see detail photos). The aforementioned is for accuracy as the Console Pair present exceptionally well.
