The medallion and lozenges are filled with a large-scale cruciform cross motif, diamonds, and rosettes with latch-hook edges. Midnight ink blue spandrels and ziggurat mounds are filled with complementary motifs and outlined with latch-hook edges. It is enclosed with a traditional Herat border flanked with inner and outer carnation Meander guard borders. Leafy tendrils and crenelated fence guard bands appear in between borders, adding movement to the overall design.
