Vintage Design
This cylinder desk has two drawers in the waist, with solid mahogany fronts with reserve, dressed with brass rods in doucine. They are equipped with original locks in working condition, with adjusted keys and threaded entries. The side belts have the same composition.
Above, we find a cylinder also underlined by a brass rod in doucine and three brass grooves. The inner panel is made of a single sheet of mahogany without joint. This part folds upwards, with the help of two brass handles, and is locked by a functional original lock with two vertical points and key. There is a sliding shelf with a mitered edge and a brass quarter round recessed front. The latter is darkened with a blood red leather with cold and golden vignettes as well as corner and central motifs. The inner part offers three drawers, with knobs, and three identical niches.
The upper part of this desk has three last drawers, of the same design, with fluting in recall. They are topped with a white Carrara marble, polished, grey veined and without cracks, surrounded by an openwork brass gallery, with a slight return in front.
This set rests on four fudged feet, in spindle, dressed with bronze bezels in the upper part and ending with ball hooves.
Composed of 80% solid mahogany, this cylinder desk will be appreciated for its functionality and the quality of its manufacture.
